About This Project

Bad Weather was commissioned by Salute to design and bring to life the Budweiser & Hisense FIFA Party Parks in both Cape Town and Johannesburg during the FIFA World Cup.

The concept of a fan park is nothing new, but the emphasis from the Salute team was to revitalized the concept and bring new energy into these incredible fan parks. After all, football is best enjoyed together.

We conceptualized an overarching theme to ensure cohesiveness across the two cities.

For Cape Town we designed a large high resolution LED screen that sat center stage. This played as a backdrop to opening DJ’s, MC and half time performances and of course the game.
Once the match was over the screen then split into two halves which opened up at the center to reveal a much larger stage environment for the headline performances. Each night saw a different headliner and the reveals became an iconic identity for the show.
